Welcome to Midwest Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery

Upon arrival at a Midwest Ear, Nose, and Throat office location you will be greeted by our friendly staff.  The visit will begin with "check in". During the check in process demographic and insurance information will be collected. There will be a private consultation and examination with a physician. Any necessary testing will be completed at that time or scheduled for a future date. Discussion will take place regarding the medical issue, diagnosis, and treatment options available. During this time any questions that you may have will be addressed.  The check in process mentioned above can be expedited by filling out the "new patient forms” prior to your arrival.

Our Services

Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat Issues:

Many children suffer with childhood infections involving the ears know as otitis media. These infections can lead to fever, pain, and hearing loss. Often these infections can be treated by the pediatrician or family physician. When these infections do not respond well to treatment or are occurring much too frequently the physicians of Midwest ENT have a great deal of experience and can assist with the placement of ear tubes. The tonsils and adenoids cause frequent problems during childhood. The tonsils and adenoids can frequently become infected causing fever, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and ear pain. Additionally, large tonsils and adenoids can cause obstruction of sleep with snoring, pauses followed by gasping for air, and daytime tiredness. When a child suffers with frequent infections of the tonsils or obstructive sleep apnea, removing the tonsils and adenoids (tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy) can be of benefit. Our physicians have a great deal of experience with this procedure.

Pediatric sinus and allergy problems can lead to significant childhood suffering. Our physicians are skilled in the diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical treatment of pediatric sinus and allergy issues. Our facility does offer thorough allergy testing, with both skin testing and blood testing, and treatment of allergies with medications and, if necessary, allergy shots.

Midwest Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery has a physician with fellowship training (special additional training) in Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery to deal with the rare and unusual illnesses affecting children's ears, noses, and throats.

Sinus and Allergy Problems:

Many residents of Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky suffer with severe nasal issues. Unfortunately, many people believe that there is no choice but to live with the constant runny nose, post nasal drip, congestion, nasal obstruction, and sneezing associated with allergies or allergic rhinitis. Other patients suffer with infections of the sinuses leading to green or yellow nasal drainage, facial pain or pressure, and nasal congestion. Our physicians will obtain a detailed history of your symptoms .Additionally, our physicians may utilize the latest technology: fiber optic telescopes, CT scan imaging, and allergy testing to assist in the diagnosis of the problem and your treatment planning.  When necessary in severe cases our physicians are well trained with allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots) for allergic issues and  functional endoscopic sinus surgery to assist with the treatment of sinusitis. Additionally, our physicians have significant experience with nasal surgery (septoplasty and reduction of the turbinates) to improve nasal breathing.

Diseases of the ear, Hearing Loss, and Balance Disorders:

Our physicians are skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of ear infections, chronic ear disease, perforated ear drums, hearing loss, sudden hearing loss ( an ENT emergency), tinnitis/ringing or noise of the ears, dizziness including vertigo (spinning), lightheadedness, and unsteadiness, disorders of the facial nerve and facial paralysis. Sleep Apnea and Snoring:

Snoring and sleep apnea are extremely common problems affecting millions of Americans. These issues can lead to disrupted sleep, headache, daytime hypersomnolence (tiredness), obesity, high blood pressure, and other chronic medical illnesses. If indicated, our physicians can arrange for sleep testing in our in house sleep laboratory. Treatment options including medical therapy, use of CPAP, and surgical options will be discussed.

Benign and Malignant Tumors of the Head, Neck, Throat, Thyroid, and Parathyroid:

More than 50,000 Americans are diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck yearly.  Our physicians are skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors of the head and neck.  These tumors can include the skin of the face and ears, salivary glands, oral cavity, throat, larynx, thyroid glands, and parathyroid glands. When necessary, our physicians work closely with local oncologists and radiation oncologists to provide state of the art cancer therapy.

Voice and Swallowing disorders:

Hoarseness and difficulty swallowing are extremely common problems that can occur for a variety of reasons. Our physicians are well trained in the evaluation and treatment of speach and swallowing disorders. Fiber optic laryngoscopy is available to assist in the examination and diagnosis. When necessary, our physicians work closely with radiologists and speach therapists for further testing and treatment of these issues.

Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Services:

Do you want to look bright and rejuvenated, younger, and more vibrant? Do you want your outside to reflect how great you feel inside? A broad scope of comprehensive facial plastic surgery procedures (minimally invasive non-surgical and surgical) that can effectively reduce or eliminate signs of aging is available. With the expertise of a fellowship trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, if you want to define some of your best features, address loose skin under the eyes or face, refine the neck and facial sagging skin (or jowls), tighten a drooping brow, improve the appearance of the nose, or repair fine lines and wrinkles, we can help you through what aesthetic procedures might best fit your particular needs and desires.

Additionally, we offer reconstructive surgery services that may be required to improve function and appearance.  Facial reconstructive surgery techniques can be used to restore the natural form and function of the head and neck when afflicted with various medical conditions.  For the realignment of facial bones after injury, the restoration of the face after a removal of a skin cancer, or the realignment of a feature gone awry, and many other issues, reconstructive surgery may be the answer.
